Hungarian Lecso.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 3 medium onions
  • 50 grams of smoked bacon
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 kilo white Hungarian peppers
  • Half teaspoon salt
  • 500 grams small tomatoes (no tomatoes)
  • little komeinzaad


Take a large casserole. which Lecso cook evenly and can be baked untouched.

Slice the onion and bell pepper into rings and tomatoes into wedges. The oil in the pan, heat the bacon and fry herein.

Add the onions and fry until lightly browned.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir the contents with paprika.

The white pepper rings, and the salt.

The lid on the pan for 10 minutes and simmer until the peppers collapse.

Then add the tomatoes under gentle stirring.

Without cover the whole long cook until water has evaporated.

Note that the Lecso should be soft, but not so long that cooking a soup-like consistency.
